Elections

MESCA needs you, your voice, and your vision to serve on our Board of Directors! Each year, MESCA accepts applications to fill board positions for board members whose terms are expiring.


For 2026, there are two vacant seats. Each seat is a three-year term beginning July 1, 2026 and ending June 30, 2029.

 Applications Accepted April 15
 Applications Close May 8
 Voting May 18-29
 New Directors Take Office  July 1
 Term Ends June 30, 2029

Eligibility

To be eligible to be placed on the ballot, the applicant must:

    • Hold a professional or emeritus MESCA membership as of April 15, 2026;
    • Be an employed certified school counselor in a school, school district, or state department of education; serve as faculty in a school counselor education program in the state of Maine as of April 15, 2026; or, be a retired school counselor.
    • Hold a valid school counselor license or certificate issued by a state department of education or equivalent state or federal agency as of April 15, 2026; and
    • Be a professional member of the American School Counselor Association as of April 15, 2026.
