Dear School Counselors,

You are invited to participate in a research survey to gain insight into school counselors’ training, comfort, and competency levels for working with students experiencing suicidal ideation and suicide attempts.  

To participate in the survey, you must: 

• Be a licensed school counselor.
• Currently working in a school setting (physical or virtual). 

This survey will take approximately 8 minutes to complete:

The purpose of this study is to research the training, comfort, and competency level of school counselors working with students experiencing suicidal ideation or suicide attempt. Participants in this study will be asked to complete a 21-item Likert scale survey.  

• There are no known risks based on participating in the study. All of your responses will be collected anonymously through Qualtrics. You have the right to withdraw from the study and survey at any time. 
• The benefits of participating in this survey are to inform a training development program for counselor educators, school districts, and school counseling programs to train school counselors on how to effectively and competently work with this population and increase comfort and confidence.
